Marianne’s is a family business, that started in 1947 with Lenore and Tom Becker who named the store after their daughters. In 1958, Sam Lieberman took over the little ice cream parlor and, with his wife Dorothy, carried Marianne’s commitment to quality forward for more than half a century. Now the third family owners, Kelly Dillon & Charlie Wilcox, were taught Sam’s secret techniques after they were hand-picked to carry on the tradition.
A careful process of hand preparing their ingredients and hand mixing the flavors reflects the personal care we take every day. The team at Marianne’s is working to deliver the best ice cream and novelties they know how to make.
They have more than 100 flavors in rotation and more than 250 in their recipe box. So, whether their latest experiment, or the honored standby, you know the ice cream is still made the way it has always been made — by hand, right in Santa Cruz.
