Etouffée in French means "smothered", and our chicken etouffee is smothered in a spicy creole tomato gravy. Dark meat boneless chicken is simmered with butter, hot sauce, bell peppers, onion, and tomato. Serve over steamed rice for a decadent and comforting meal.
Ingredients:

Rice:
- Place par-boiled rice into a small saucepan with a lid. Add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil.
- Lower the flame to a simmer and place lid on pot. Steam for 20 minutes.
## Chicken Etouffée:
- Pour etouffée into a medium saucepan and heat over a medium flame, stirring occasionally to make sure it doesn't scorch to the bottom of the pan.
- Once heated through, serve with steamed white rice and sliced scallions (optional). Enjoy!
